Assessment: This book is fantastic, especially if used in a classroom setting for teaching medical physics. The book is concentrated on MV imaging, but the fundamentals can be used to further elaborate on concepts of photon interactions and imaging concepts. The book is relevant, with current imaging techniques being used clinically. The size of the x-ray beam is 50 mm × 20 mm at the isocenter in the plane perpendicular to the beam in the experiments. The x-ray acoustic signal generated by the x-ray pulses was captured by unfocused ultrasound transducer (VSU, Olympus-NDT, Waltham, MA, USA) which has a central frequency of kHz and a diameter of mm.
